Competitive Compensation and Benefits
We recognize the value of your RN experience and provide an experience rating into our pay structure when you join our nursing team at Mon Health System. We also conduct market wage reviews to ensure your pay is competitive in the market, offer shift differentials and have various incentives to cover shifts as needed. We offer a great total compensation package. In addition to the traditional medical plans that include vision and dental, we offer a retirement plan with an automatic employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), as well as Parental Leave (14 consecutive calendar days of paid parental leave to employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care). Our Wellness Program includes smoking cessation, weight loss, stress management, medical screening, and immunizations, as well as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). We offer Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance as well as Basic Life and Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance; AD&D plans are available. Medical plans have options that include Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Some positions also offer a generous sign-on bonus!
Orientation
Mon Health System offers an excellent orientation for new graduates and individualized orientation for experienced staff. During this comprehensive competency-based orientation period, the nurse is teamed with an experienced preceptor and an educator. Specific skills essential to the job are taught, monitored, and measured during this period.
Buddy Program
Buddies are a colleague within the new employee's department who is willing to serve as a resource for a newly hired employee to help him/her feel connected to the team by answering questions and providing opportunities to socialize. A Buddy can answer questions about the work environment, culture, resources, and other information.
Certification Bonus
To reward Mon Health System Registered Nurses for receiving and maintaining certifications, our nurses are eligible for a certification bonus. This bonus is paid annually if the incumbent has successfully completed and maintained the certification requirements.
Pre-Paid Nursing Certification via ANCC
Employees no longer need to pay out of pocket for select certifications, such as: Inter-Professional, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and more!
Tuition Reimbursement
Mon Health System supports the career development of all employees. The Tuition Reimbursement Program provides financial assistance to employees who wish to further their education and career in relation to their current duties and responsibilities or for potential future positions in the company.
Flexible Scheduling
To promote work/life balance, flexible scheduling is available in most areas. Schedules are published ahead of time on a monthly rotation to assist you in scheduling your other commitments. We support you and encourage you to use your earned time off by offering various forms of paid time off (PTO & Paid Parental Leave).
Clinical Advancement Ladder

The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provided every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of an auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say "thank you" to nurses in a very public way.
WVJC School of Nursing at Mon Health
Mon Health System and West Virginia Junior College have partnered to create the WVJC School of Nursing at Mon Health, serving that healthcare needs of North Central West Virginia. Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™
Mon Health System is proud to offer a program to help newly licensed nurses successfully transition into clinical practice. We care about you and are committed to empower you to successfully navigate your professional nursing journey. We have partnered with Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help our new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program. Your well-being as a new nurse is enhanced through hands-on training and processing clinical experiences. As a newly licensed nurse at Mon Health System, you will receive mentoring from an experienced nurse, build relationships with peers and participate in engaging learning experiences in a supportive environment. The interactive sessions using evidence-based curriculum will increase your ability to:

There is no separate application to the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™. Every newly licensed RN with less than one-year experience will be enrolled based on hire date.
