Family Medicine Physician Dr. Arielle Placke Seeing Patients at Mon Health Medical Center

Posted Date: 3/30/2021
Mon Health Medical Center (MHMC) invites patients needing a family medicine specialist to contact one of our newest physicians, Dr. Arielle Placke, DO. As a MHMC physician, Dr. Placke is making a difference every day in the lives of her patients.

She provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family. Currently, she is seeing patients from age 12 and up. She is particularly interested in women's health and enjoys doing small office procedures when possible.

One of her goals is to emphasize disease prevention and health promotion. She wishes to provide personal, comprehensive, and continuing care for the individual with the background of the family and the community.

"Since starting with Mon Health, I have been very lucky to meet some wonderful patients, and I am eager to expand my practice. The people of Morgantown have been very friendly and welcoming as a community," she wrote. "I enjoy sitting down with patients and hearing their story to better understand the problems they are having. I think that open dialogue with the patient is the best way to determine a treatment plan that they can follow and feel comfortable with."

Knowing the difficult health problems facing West Virginians has made her decision to base her practice in the state easy. The most pressing issues she has seen are depression and anxiety, which have worsened during the pandemic, and management of chronic diseases related to metabolic syndromes like diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Dr. Placke is very happy with her new home here and wrote, “I moved to Morgantown with my husband (who is also a general surgeon at Mon Health, Dr. Dodson), and our 9-month-old daughter last summer. We are really enjoying Morgantown, and I am excited to continue to explore the area as the pandemic abates.”

Dr. Placke’s office is conveniently located at Mon Health Primary Care at the Westover Gateway, 6000 Memorial Church Drive, Suite A, in Morgantown.

She completed her residency programs at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA, in family medicine. She began practice at MHMC in September 2020.
