Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Reflects on 2023

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is a 70-bed general medical and surgical hospital located in Weston, West Virgina. In 2023, the hospital saw many successes in healthcare and stayed true to its core mission of enhancing the health of its community, one person at a time.

In an effort to provide the most up-to-date care for patients and remain at the forefront of medical advances, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital announced its relocation in June of 2023 and plans to build a new hospital, providing increased access to quality healthcare in the area. In addition, the hospital earned a 4-star hospital quality rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and celebrated 10 years of comprehensive care in its Infusion and Vein Center.

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital staff also spent much of the year donating their time and resources to better serve and educate the community. Dr. Robert Snuffer donated trauma response kits to local organizations in need, the hospital hosted a breast cancer awareness luncheon to encourage early detection through screenings, the hospital’s 5K race series began and saw a record number of racers in its November Gobble Gallop, several community blood drives and free screenings were hosted and sponsored by the hospital, and much more.

“Our hospital has always been a beacon of hope for our community and in 2023, we remained steadfast in our commitment to serve our community and provide excellent care to anyone who came through our doors,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “As we enter a new year, we will continue in our pursuit of our mission, as enhancing the patient experience through compassionate care and clinical excellence remans that the forefront of our mind.”

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is a part of Mon Health System, which has integrated with Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Health System and Davis Health System to form Vandalia Health.
