The Village at Heritage Point Hosts Nashville Singer-Songwriter Kevin Major

Posted Date: 7/17/2024
The Village at Heritage Point held a special concert starring Nashville singer-songwriter, Kevin Major, on Friday, July 12.

Kevin Major originally hails from Morgantown, West Virginia, but moved to Nashville, Tennessee to hone his craft for the past 25 years. He is best known for his storytelling that authentically weave his heart and his home into every song.

While in town for another show, Major planned a concert for the residents at The Village to visit his former high school English teacher, Mrs. Gwen Rosenbluth.

“What I remember from English class most of all is that all good stories have a beginning, middle, and an end, and help set the stage with some background, have some conflict and tension, have some heart, and make a point,” said Major. “This is also true in songwriting, plus you have to do it all in about three minutes or less. I am very grateful for what Mrs. Rosenbluth taught me at Morgantown High School and I was glad to share some of my songs with her and the residents at The Village.”

Major is still pursuing the elusive #1 hit as a songwriter in Nashville but stays connected to his Morgantown roots through songs about his hometown and state. Major’s well-received anthem “West by God Virginia” pays homage to his home state and its people, and now has over 30,000 streams on YouTube.

“I enjoy sharing my songs and stories with other people and the Morgantown community has always been very good to me,” said Major. “I like to give back when I can and know that music is often a big part of people’s lives, regardless of their age.”

The Village at Heritage Point takes pride in the diversity of activities available to residents. From exclusive concerts to fine dining, the luxury senior living community in the heart of Morgantown has it all. To learn more about The Village or to schedule a tour, visit Heritage-Point.com.
