Mon Health Medical Center has been recognized by the West Virginia Hospital Political Action Committee (HOSPAC) for exceeding their individual hospital fundraising goal and leadership for this year’s campaign during the Health Care Leadership Summit at The Greenbrier.

HOSPAC is a membership political action committee, organized by persons who support the improvement of healthcare in West Virginia, and who support hospitals and their role in improving healthcare. HOSPAC is a voluntary, non-profit, non-partisan organization whose purpose is to provide financial support to candidates for WV Legislature and statewide officials who are willing to protect public policies that preserve vital healthcare services.

HOSPAC presented three awards and recognized 26 hospitals for meeting or exceeding their individual hospital goals. The “Over the Top” – 61 to 275 Beds Award recognized Mon Health Medical Center for their terrific leadership in this year’s campaign.

“We are proud to be a leader in supporting HOSPAC, which advocates for critical healthcare issues on behalf of hospitals and the patients we serve,” said Krystal Atkinson, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Medical Center.

Mon Health Medical Center, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Grafton City Hospital were also recognized during the Health Care Leadership Summit for their outstanding work in the West Virginia Hospital Association’s Commitment to Excellence Honors Program.

The objectives of the honors program are to reward successful efforts to develop and promote quality improvement activities, inspire hospitals to be leaders in improving the health of West Virginians, and raise awareness of nationally accepted standards of care that are proven to enhance patient outcomes.
