Patient Accommodations
Our Food Service accommodates our patients with three meals a day and snacks at other times. Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of treatment and recovery. Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to the doctor's orders. Patients are served breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.; lunch, 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m.; and dinner, 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Snacks are available from 10 a.m. to noon; 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. A patient may call 8179 from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. to order a meal, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. The meal may be delayed if the patient is scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, the patient will be served after the examination or test.
You will be supplied with one of three menus, depending on your diagnosis - cardiac, regular, or diabetic. If a family member or friend wants to eat in your room with you, he/she may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there and bring it back to your room.
Phones are available by most patient beds. To make a phone call from your room just dial a "9" before placing your call. Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital's phone system allows local Weston/Jane Lew/Walkersville (269/884/452) calls. For long distance calls you will need to use your own calling card or another system. Our console operators are not permitted to place any calls.
Chaplains are available twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week, for SJMH patients and families. Ask your nurse for more information. There is also a chapel on the ground floor of the Hospital.
