Services:

●Bone Densitometer
This simple procedure is used to diagnose certain bone disorders.

●Computerized Tomography
Our CT scanner performs rapid whole body scans and can obtain high-quality slice-like images of selected areas.

●3D Mammography
Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital offers state-of-the-art Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exams. It is suggested that the Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam finds 20-65% more invasive breast cancers compared to 2D alone. Such readings can lead to earlier diagnosis and a greater variety of treatment options available for the patient. Hologic, the parent company, also notes that almost 50% of women over 40 have dense breast tissue that can hide early signs of cancer in a traditional mammogram. Only the Genius® exam is FDA approved as superior to 2D mammography for women with dense breasts. We are now a Pink Ribbon facility.

●MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging is a new computer-assisted diagnostic technique which acquires images without the use of radiation.

●Nuclear Medicine
Our physicians have at hand the latest in diagnostic medical imaging with a sophisticated digital gamma camera system. Some of the studies are imaging of the heart, lung, thyroid, or gallbladder function.

●Ultrasound
The ultrasound unit provides high-quality diagnostic information to our medical staff. It provides monitoring of obstetric patients and diagnosis of the abdominal and pelvic area.
