At Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia, we are committed to improving the health of our community. Preston Memorial Hospital incorporates state-of the-art procedures and equipment to care for our patients. We have an extensive offering of services and technological capabilities normally found in larger facilities; yet our staff cares for you with the genuine concern of friends and neighbors. We work cooperatively with physicians, other health care providers, local businesses and industries, and community organizations to address community needs and to provide a continuum of care.
General History
Preston Memorial Hospital is a state licensed, 25-bed acute care hospital located in Kingwood, WV. The original PMH opened its doors on July 16, 1955. On September 29, 1955 during the annual Buckwheat Festival, PMH was dedicated to the memory of the men and women of Preston County who served in the armed forces and to those who paid the supreme sacrifice.
On May 17, 2015, the new PMH opened its doors to the public. Dedication of the new facility was April 30, 2015. Now part of the Mon Health System, PMH is a non-profit, Critical Access Hospital providing advanced medical services for the community. With integrated Physician and Physical Therapy Centers, the new PMH offers Olympus Integrated One-Touch Surgical Suites, an expanded Emergency Department, 25 all private patient rooms, and the most advanced equipment for our patients.
A Leader in Rural Healthcare
PMH continues to provide excellent rural healthcare services. Our laboratory services are provided seven days week, twenty-four hours a day including microbiology, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis. Preston Memorial Hospital (PMH) Laboratory is accredited by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization.
The laboratory has three specimen collection locations in Preston County:
• Preston Memorial Hospital (PMH) in Kingwood, WV
• PMH Fellowsville Family Care in Fellowsville, WV
• PMH Urgent Care in Reedsville, WV
Diagnostic Imaging provides state-of the art equipment with services in the following areas: CT, MRI, Bone Density, Digital Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Digital X-ray. All radiology physicians and staff are board certified. Diagnostic Imaging is certified by the state of WV, Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) in Mammography, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Vascular Ultrasound and General/Gynecological Ultrasound.
Outpatient services include a variety of specialty services, such as Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, Occupational Medicine, Podiatry, and Pulmonology. PMH also has two nationally recognized Centers of Excellence for Bariatrics and Sleep Medicine.
