Volunteer Services
Volunteers have provided key services to Preston Memorial Hospital since its inception.
Many are drawn to volunteerism by their desire to be kind, helpful, busy, and in the case of our student volunteers, to gain high school or college required community service hours, while gaining an exposure to the medical field(s) which they wish to enter. You may volunteer through one of our two programs: Junior Volunteers (ages 14-17) and Adult Volunteers (over age 18).
Volunteers could be involved with many tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Greeting visitors and directing them to their destination
- Diagnostic Imaging greeting
- Cafeteria cashiering
- Housekeeping duties
- Preparing discharge folders for admitted patients
- Business office filing and data entry
- Blood drive assistance
- Health fair assistance
- And many more!
All volunteers undergo a background check will complete initial and annual education orienting them to the healthcare setting.
