Mon Health System
Mon Health is the “parent” company of Mon Health Medical Center, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital and Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. It was formed in 1982 to aid in strategic planning and to manage all of its affiliated entities under a common philosophy.
Mon Health Medical Center is the flagship member of Mon Health. The 189-bed hospital traces its roots back to the first hospital in Monongalia County in the early 1900s, and was officially established by an act of the Monongalia County Court in April 1943.
The hospital has a strong commitment to providing personalized care and service with compassion and respect to North Central West Virginia, southwestern Pennsylvania, and the surrounding region. The more than 250 physicians with privileges at the hospital have a long history of dedication to the community and hospital, with a wide range of specialties including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics/Gynecology.
Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital joined Mon Health in February 2014. It is a 25-bed critical access, acute care hospital located in Kingwood, WV. The hospital is a leader in rural health care delivery. Mon Health Preston Memorial opened a new state-of-the-art hospital in May 2015. The hospital offers a wide range of services including a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department, critical care, laboratory, imaging, respiratory therapy, physical therapy and a diagnostic sleep laboratory.
Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital joined Mon Health in October 2017. Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is a 70-bed general medical and surgical hospital in Weston, WV. It primarily serves Lewis, Gilmer, Braxton and Upshur counties.
Mon Health Emergency Medical Services is located on J.D. Anderson Drive, just below Mon Health Medical Center. Equipped with rescue trucks and ambulances, it provides rescue and emergency transport services to Monongalia County. Mon Health EMS responds to over 97 percent of all emergency calls within Monongalia County, offering paramedic and rescue services consistent with the highest levels of emergency services in our region. Mon Health EMS has been affiliated with Mon Health since the early 1980s.
Mon Health Equipment & Supplies has been providing medical product solutions to the Morgantown area for more than three decades. The retail store, located at 600 Business Park Drive in Morgantown, features respiratory products, mobility products, stair lifts, diabetes supplies, the Lifeline Emergency Response System, and many other types of home medical equipment. Mon Health Equipment and Supplies is dedicated to improving the safety, security, comfort and independence of those it serves. It is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). Mon Health Equipment & Supplies has two locations in Morgantown and Weston.
Mon Health The Village at Heritage Point is a retirement community affiliated with Mon Health Medical Center. It offers residential living apartments and an inspired lifestyle for senior adults ages 62 and over. It also offers residential care apartments for people who need some assistance with daily activities. The Village opened on July 19, 1999, offering 90 one and two bedroom independent living apartments. This was followed in September 1999 with the opening of The Suites at Heritage Point, featuring 40 residential care apartments.
Mon Health is also affiliated with HealthWorks Rehab and Fitness, HealthSouth MountainView Rehabilitation Hospital, Morgantown Hospice, and the Surgical Eye Center of Morgantown.
