Vandalia Health Employees Appointed to Leadership West Virginia

Vandalia Health is pleased to announce that three Vandalia Health employees, Michelle Coon, Katie Davison, and Robby Queen, have been appointed to Leadership West Virginia’s (LWV) 2023 class.

This year’s class is comprised of 58 leaders from across the state, making this the largest and most diverse class in the program’s 32 years. Michelle, Katie, and Robby were chosen from more than 100 qualified applicants from across the state – the most in the program’s history.

Michelle Coon is the President of Vandalia Health Network and Vice President of Managed Care for Vandalia Health System. She is a graduate of West Virginia University (WVU) with a bachelor’s in health care administration. Michelle started her career at Aetna where she held various roles before taking on the role of Chief Operations Officer for the West Virginia plan.

Michelle started at CAMC in 2018 to develop and launch the clinically integrated network now known as Vandalia Health Network. The organization is statewide and provides population health services to over 120,000 beneficiaries and has over 2,200 providers and 18 hospital organizations in the network. The organization is physician led and has tackled many healthcare issues, such as Social Determinants of Health, Diabetes, and reducing healthcare costs for patients and providers.

In 2021, Michelle led the formation the Vandalia Provider and Hospital Organization where she serves as President. The PHO provides administrative services such as delegated physician credentialing, network management, clinical oversight, and utilization review. Michelle has been married for 24 years and has three children and three grandchildren.

“I am very excited to be a part of the 2023 Leadership WV class! With much of my background in healthcare, I am excited to have exposure to other industry leaders in our state and learn how together we can continue to improve and grow WV,” said Michelle.

Katie Davison joined as Chief Human Resource Officer at Mon Health System, part of Vandalia Health, in March 2020. Katie has over 15 years of experience with a focus on strategic leadership, talent acquisition, and employee engagement. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington prior to receiving her master’s in legal studies (MLS) from WVU.

Katie is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and was recognized in The State Journal as one of West Virginia’s Generation Next: 40 Under 40 Young Professionals in 2021. Katie lives in Morgantown with her husband Rob and their three dogs, Bristol, Charlotte, and Huggie.

“Mon Health and CAMC came together to form Vandalia Health since both organizations have the shared value of being community-focused,” Katie said. “Leadership West Virginia embodies that same focus and I’m excited to learn from the program and my fellow participants and turn that knowledge into action that will help further our mission.”

Robby Queen is the Senior Development Officer at the CAMC Foundation. Robby is an active volunteer with the Foundation’s annual “Run for Your Life” and has served in various senior leadership roles in local, state, and federal government as well as higher education and non-profits. He is a member of the WVU Alumni Association, the West Virginia State Society, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, and he was a Fellow of the 2018 Henry Toll Fellowship Program through the Council of State Governments.

Robby was selected as a member of the 2016 class of The State Journal’s 40 Under 40 and is a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Logan. As a native of Logan and graduate of WVU, Robby enjoys traveling, Mountaineer sports, and spending time with family and friends.

“I am excited to be part of this year’s class of diverse leaders from across the Mountain State, and I am honored to represent the CAMC Foundation, CAMC, and Vandalia Health as a member of the class of 2023,” said Robby.

LWV is an innovative program that grows, engages, and mobilizes leaders to ignite a lifelong passion to move WV forward. The 2023 class will visit various communities in WV to learn about issues affecting our state’s healthcare, education, tourism, and energy industries. They will learn more about our economy and judicial system and have leadership and business etiquette training opportunities and can cultivate relationships in the class and among the program’s 1,500 alumni.
