Mon Health Bariatrics Expands its Comprehensive Care Team

To evaluate and help patients prepare for bariatric surgery, Dr. Brode joins bariatric surgeons Dr. Mustapha Daouadi and Dr. Emanuel Mejias on the Mon Health Bariatrics team as a psychologist to evaluate patients and help prepare them for bariatric surgery.
Dr. Brode received her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Additionally, Dr. Brode completed an adult clinical postdoctoral fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, and a postdoctoral fellowship in bariatric surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Brode will provide psychological assessments throughout the care process for patients receiving bariatric surgery. These assessments are used to guide the bariatric care team in the patient’s care before and after surgery to ensure both successful treatment and long-term weight loss.
