Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital Hosts Annual Food Drive to Benefit Preston County

Posted Date: 2/15/2024

Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital kicked off its annual food drive on Feb. 14 to benefit Food for Preston and will be accepting donations through March 14.

For over ten years, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital has held various food drives to support the local community. This year, the hospital’s goal is to provide at least 15 boxes of nonperishable foods for the 15 food pantries and the Food For Preston Backpack Program in Preston County. The food pantries collectively reach about 1,500 community members across the county each week.  The Backpack Program supplies weekend meals to Preston County students. School counselors and staff enroll students based on need to protect confidentiality. Currently, 400 students are served each week throughout the school year.

Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital is encouraging community members to join in making an impact by donating and dropping off nonperishable foods at one of the following locations: Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, Mon Health Preston Primary Care (Dr. Ramberg’s office), Mon Health Preston Primary Care (Dr. Schwarzenberg’s office), Mon Health Preston Urgent Care in Reedsville, Mon Health Preston Primary Care in Fellowsville, and Mon Health Preston Memorial Physical Therapy & Fitness Center in Bruceton. “This annual food drive is just one of the ways we are working to make a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Melissa Lockwood, Chief Administrative Officer at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. “It’s always amazing to see the staff and the community come together to meet needs in our area and make a difference in the lives of others.”
