Mon Health System Celebrates Hospital Week

Posted Date: 5/13/2024
National Hospital Week is May 12-18 and Mon Health System is honoring its staff across each hospital and celebrating with Disney themed activities each day.

National Hospital Week is annually celebrated and recognized by the American Hospital Association (AHA) to honor hospitals, health systems, and healthcare workers and the innovative ways they are supporting and connected to their community.

According to the AHA, each year, America’s hospitals and health systems provide care for over 32 million people admitted to hospitals and provide emergency care to 137 million people. National Hospital Week is a dedicated time for honoring those 6.3 million healthcare employees that provide compassionate, life-saving care on a daily basis.

Throughout the week, all staff across Mon Health System hospitals will be celebrated with goodies, activities, and more. From finding “hidden Mickeys” and Disney movie showings, to staff picnics, Mad Tea Party rounding, sweet treats, and more, there will be no shortage of celebrations available to all employees.

“At Mon Health System, our employees and their passion for the care they provide are the driving force behind what makes our hospital system not just a place of hope and healing for our patients, but truly the ‘Best Place to Work’ in West Virginia,” said Katie Davison, Chief Human Resources Officer for Mon Health System. “It is truly an honor to be a part of this exceptional team and celebrate the efforts of the staff across the system during National Hospital Week.”

Mon Health System is made up of its flagship hospital, Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital in White Hall, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, and Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. Mon Health System has three affiliate hospitals, and is a part of Vandalia Health, which includes CAMC Health System and Davis Health System. Vandalia Health is the second largest health system in West Virginia with 17 hospitals and over 190 outpatient locations.

“The outstanding, patient-centered care that we provide at Mon Health System, and across Vandalia Health, would not be possible without our dedicated hospital staff who work tirelessly to further our mission of enhancing the health of the communities we serve, one person at a time,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health. “I extend my thanks to each member of our staff, Board of Directors, physicians, management colleagues and community who not only provide the high-quality care that we are known for statewide, but who truly embody what it means to be committed to excellence and people-focused outcomes.”
