Mon Health System Employee Appointed to West Virginia Leadership Agency

Jennifer Nestor, Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital and President-Elect of the West Virginia Organization of Nursing Leadership (WVONL)

Mon Health System is pleased to announce that Jennifer Nestor, Chief Nursing Officer at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, has been appointed as President-Elect of the West Virginia Organization of Nursing Leadership (WVONL).

The WVONL exists to advocate for the profession of nursing and the future of healthcare to advance nursing practice and patient care, promote nursing leadership excellence, and shape healthcare policy. They provide a vision for nursing leadership and offer members support and educational and professional development. They also work to influence important legislation and public policies surrounding the nursing field and patient care issues.

Nestor graduated from the University of Charleston with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing before completing her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. Recently, she also enrolled at Aspen University to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Nestor has held a variety of clinical roles, including EMT, Clinical Nurse, and Nurse Director before starting her role at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in 2009. In addition, she spends time as a Diabetic Educator, hosting community diabetic education and support groups in Preston County.

“I am proud to represent Mon Health System as President-Elect of WVONL. I have been honored to participate in this professional organization for a number of years and am excited to help lead this group in the strategic plan that we have developed to further the nursing profession in the state of West Virginia,” said Nestor. “This is an immense opportunity to leverage our skills and expertise to help achieve our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve through partnership with this organization.”
