Mon Health System is pleased to welcome five high school interns from throughout the state of West Virginia to participate in their internship program throughout the end of July. The program will provide valuable hands-on experience in healthcare through demonstrations, observation, and engaging activities.
The students, who all have an interest in healthcare, will have the opportunity to work on two capstone projects during their internship. Their experiences will not only enhance their knowledge and skills, but also allow them to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare field.
“Mon Health System is thrilled to welcome these talented high school interns to our healthcare family. We believe in investing in the future of healthcare in West Virginia, and this program allows us to provide hands-on experience to aspiring students,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health.
Throughout the program, the interns will have the chance to immerse themselves in various essential units throughout the facility, including ambulatory clinics, the Family Birth Center, surgical areas, administrative offices, nursing units, and more. The comprehensive program will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of the different facets of healthcare and allow them to witness the vital role each department plays to enhance the health of the communities we serve.
Students participating in the program include Emma Burns of Morgantown High School, Taylor Hart of University High School, Cheyenne Hoover of Preston High School, Michael McCombs of Doddridge County High School, and Kailynn Sinnett of Lincoln High School.
“Mon Health System remains committed to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering educational opportunities like this internship program,” said Katie Davison, Chief Human Resources Officer at Mon Health System. “By providing a positive learning environment, we hope to support more students as they embark on their journey towards making a difference in the lives of others.”
Please join us in welcoming our interns from local high schools who will be participating in their internship program throughout the end of July! The students will be able to enhance their knowledge & skills, as well as make meaningful contributions to the healthcare field.
