Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Hosts 7th Annual Groundhog Day Race

This event is based on the “Groundhog Day” movie in that participants will race around the track continuously for 16 laps. Both walkers and runners are invited to participate. There will be a one-of-a-kind trophy for the winners in the women’s and men’s division.
“Our Groundhog Day race is unique and certainly a fun way for the community to get active,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “As a community hospital, we strive to promote healthy living and provide opportunities for people to get involved locally and this 5K series is a fun way to bring the community together and encourage healthy activity.”
Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s 5K Race Series will hold three other races through the beginning of summer, including:
• Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Noon – Snake Chase in Ireland. Participants can register at https://webscorer.com/register?raceid=326388.
• Saturday, April 20 – American Cancer Society Color Run, register by calling Carmen Hathaway at 304-482-4657.
• Saturday, June 15, 2024 – 14th Annual Weston 5K. Participants can register at webscorer.com/register?raceid=328016.
The Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s effort to encourage healthy eating and physical fitness is based on the hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment. After four completed assessments, obesity remains as one of the top issues facing the community.
