Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Receives Prestigious Healthy West Virginia Award

The award specifically acknowledges Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s achievements in the “play” category, which celebrates organizations that excel in creating opportunities for people to be active.
The hospital highlights its ongoing dedication to wellness through various events and programs, such as the adult fitness program that provides residents with low-cost access to exercise regimens, making fitness more accessible to the broader community. Additionally, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital hosted a series of walk/run events to encourage a physically active lifestyle, with a tradition dating back to the launch of its 5K race in 2008. Since then, the hospital has expanded its efforts by organizing multiple annual events, including:
• Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving
• A summer walk/run event in partnership with the City of Weston
• A 5K held with the 4H program during the Irish Spring Festival
• Three other 5Ks on the hospital campus throughout the year
