Curriculum
Overview
Throughout their training, residents are exposed to a broad range of disciplines. Rotations scheduled at Mon Health Medical Center, our affiliate hospital, include Internal Medicine-Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, Radiology and Medicine Selective, as well as Electives. Rotations such as General Surgery, Cardiology, Obstetrics, Women's Health, Sports Medicine and Orthopedics are structured with both outpatient and hospital involvement. Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Urology, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology/Pain Management, and Dermatology are primarily office-based rotations.
First year residents maintain Family Medicine continuity clinics one-half day per week. An additional one-half day per week is spent in either Behavioral Medicine or Family Medicine continuity of care clinics.
Second year residents spend two (2) half days per week in Family Medicine continuity of care clinics and two (2) half days per month in Behavioral Medicine continuity of care clinics.
Third year residents spend an average of two (2) full days per week in Family Medicine continuity of care clinics and one (1) half day per month in Behavioral Medicine continuity of care clinics.
All residents maintain continuity of care clinics at the Cornerstone Care Community Health Center of Mount Morris, located six miles
from Morgantown. In addition, PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents maintain a continuity clinic at our secondary site in Greensboro, PA, located ten miles from Morgantown.
Didactic training sessions are held one-half day per week in the Teaching Health Center Conference Room.
