Mon Health Employees Support United Way of Tygart Valley on Rescheduled Day of Action
Posted Date: 9/11/2024
Due to an extreme heat advisory earlier this summer, the United Way of Tygart Valley’s 2024 Day of Action was rescheduled to Friday, Sept. 6. Mon Health employees from across the region spent their day serving local organizations in support of this Day of Action.
On United Way’s Day of Action, hundreds of United Ways and thousands of volunteers gather around the world to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. Day of Action is global, reflecting the fact that United Way serves 48 million people across 37 countries, to improve the health, education, and financial security of every person in every community.
Mon Health employees joined around 200 volunteers throughout North Central West Virginia to serve 35 nonprofit projects. Teams of Mon Health volunteers painted fences and signs at Camp Mountaineer and also volunteered for the Family Service of Marion and Harrison Counties.
“At Mon Health, we are always looking for opportunities to care for the communities we serve, so we were proud to be involved in the United Way of Tygart Valley’s Day of Action and volunteer to help out some local nonprofits,” said Luella Gunter, Executive Director of Philanthropy at Mon Health System. “Our teams had a great day of volunteering and we are already looking forward to next year’s Day of Action.”
