Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital Receives Jared Box Donation for Children

Posted Date: 8/19/2024
Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital recently received a Jared Box donation from the Fairmont Rotary Club for pediatric patients.

A Jared Box is a plastic shoe-sized storage box filled with small gifts, toys, games, crayons, coloring books, and fun activities. Each box contains items selected for a specific age and gender. The boxes are given to children in the hospital to provide a special, fun diversion.

“This is a community service project that the Fairmont Rotary Club feels passionate about and has been doing for several years now, providing Jared Boxes for both hospitals in Maion County,” said Julie Sawyer, member of the Fairmont Rotary Club. “We look forward to partnering with Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital for future community service projects like this one.”

Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital provides high-quality emergency care around the clock to patients of all ages. The Jared Boxes will be given to children receiving treatment in the Emergency Department who need some extra comfort.

“We are so thankful to the Fairmont Rotary Club for this thoughtful donation,” said Carla Hamner, Hospital Administrator at Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital. “We strive to provide excellent, compassionate care to each of our patients, and with these Jared Boxes, we can go that extra step to care for the pediatric patients that come through our Emergency Department.”
