Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is Now Offering Advanced Women’s Care Procedure
Posted Date: 2/26/2024
Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is now offering vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), an advanced technique for hysterectomy and pelvic surgery.
Dr. Erin Miller, OBGYN at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, is now offering vNOTES procedures close-to-home for patients in Weston. vNOTES is an advanced, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery that combines the benefits of laparoscopic and vaginal approaches resulting in safer outcomes and quicker recovery times.
“I love being able to offer the most minimally invasive procedure to my patients,” said Dr. Miller. “There has been such a dramatic shift in the amount of pain patients have post-operatively and many do not require narcotic pain medication, which is a significant benefit to this procedure.”
The vNOTES technique allows complex surgeries to be performed without visible incisions, allowing patients to experience faster recovery and return to normal activities sooner. The vast majority of vNOTES patients are able to leave the hospital the same day of their operation.
“Offering evidence-based, high-tech procedures right here in Weston greatly benefits our patient population and the communities we serve,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “Increasing access to high-quality healthcare is a priority for our hospital and allows our patients to remain close to home for advanced care.”
