When Alan Tucker experienced a cardiac episode, he underwent triple bypass surgery in December 2020 to help save his life. After weighing his options on where to receive his cardiac rehab, someone suggested that he go to
Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.
"And boy am I glad I did," he smiled. "I can't speak more highly of the cardiac rehab team at Stonewall. They were all very professional and very caring. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have my rehabilitation there."
After experiencing the great medical care from his extensive heart surgery, Alan wanted his recovery to be just as good. This is why he trusted the team at Stonewall who provided compassionate, knowledgeable care close to home.
Cardiac rehabilitation nurse manager, Kristi Gannon, has always said that cardiac rehab can make the difference in the lives of patients recovering from major heart issues. Rehab can drastically improve the patient's quality of life, and their overall strength and endurance.
"I could not be prouder of a patient as we all were with Mr. Tucker. He was so compliant, and we knew that he wanted to get better," Kristi said. "He did everything we asked of him, and always going above and beyond our expectations. He exercised at 100% and did everything, even at home. He truly is our star patient."
Though he graduated from the rehab program, Alan plans on continuing with the adult fitness program at Stonewall which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He feels that adult fitness will keep him active and healthy.
"I have been blessed all the way around," he said. "I couldn't ask for more."
