Local Business Partners with Mon Health Medical Center

Posted Date: 3/14/2024
Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee has partnered with Mon Health Medical Center because of a love for its local care and shared vision of bettering the community it serves.

Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee, under Harma Restaurant Group, is a sweet treat and coffee shop located in Morgantown’s Suncrest Towne Center. The shop serves a full coffee and espresso menu along with cookies, pastries, cakes, and more. As a part of its partnership with Mon Health Medical Center, the shop is now giving guests Mon Health Medical Center drink sleeves with their beverages.

Lauren Kayal, owner and operator of Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee, started her career in dessert making at one of her full-service restaurants, eventually opening the Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee. The partnership between the local business and Mon Health Medical Center stemmed from Kayal and her family’s love for the care they’ve received at the hospital.

“My family has always had great experiences with Mon Health Medical Center,” said Kayal. “Both of our kids were delivered there, and I think that it is an excellent health care provider in the area.”

Mon Health Medical Center’s mission to enhance the health of the communities it serves, one person at a time, closely aligns with the Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee mission to “positively influence every life we touch, enriching the lives of our people and the people we serve.”

“At Mon Health Medical Center, we are proud to make a difference in the lives of our patients and in the community,” said Dr. Krystal Atkinson, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health Medical Center and Chief Nursing Executive of Mon Health System. “It is a true pleasure to partner with Sugar Bar – Sweets + Coffee to support a locally owned business who values our care and shares our vision for serving the community.”
