Mon Health Elkins Heart & Vascular Center performs first nuclear stress test
Posted Date: 12/30/2019
Since opening its doors in October 2018, the Mon Health Elkins Heart and Vascular Center has provided patients with the highest standard of care, technical expertise and a caring patient experience that is not available anywhere else in the region.
The new facility offers the convenience of quality care close to home by providing cardiac rehabilitation and diagnostic testing for patients. In only one year the clinic has had more than 1,000 cardiac rehabilitation outpatient visits.
Denise Palmer, Mon Health Heart and Vascular Director, outlined services offered at the clinic including stress testing, ultrasound studies of the heart and vascular testing for Peripheral Arterial Disease, Carotid Disease and testing for Abdominal Aneurysm, among many others. “We continue to grow and expand this clinical site, and we are happy to bring quality care to the Elkins Community.”
The clinic has also begun performing nuclear stress tests to further assess cardiac conditions. Both chemical and exercise testing are offered. This procedure uses a nuclear solution and a large imaging device to determine the efficiency of blood flow into the heart. A nuclear stress test will measure blood flow while a patient is at rest and during exercise.
“We are thrilled that we are able to provide this vital procedure for patients close to home at our Elkins location,” said
Dr. Bradford Warden, Executive Director of the Mon Health Heart and Vascular Center. “Providing this service allows us to offer cutting edge care and most importantly will benefit our patients.”
The 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is located at 501 Railroad Way in Elkins. For more information call 304.636.5006.
