Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital hosted a celebration to commemorate its one-year anniversary on Wednesday, December 14. Local and state dignitaries as well as community providers were on hand to applaud the hospital’s commitment to improve community access to vital healthcare services in Marion County.
Since opening at the Middletown Commons in White Hall on December 14, 2021, the full-service, small-format hospital has treated over 9,000 patients with 146 total admissions, 263 observations, and 427 transfers.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate this significant milestone of serving the people of Marion County. We’d like to thank our dedicated staff as well as our patients who place their trust in us for their healthcare at our full-service, 24/7 hospital right here in White Hall, WV,” said David Goldberg, Mon Health System President and CEO and Vandalia Health Executive Vice President.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony last year, Sen. Joe Manchin III commented that the delivery of healthcare services in rural areas around the country has been diminishing and thanked Mon Health System for its investment in the community. Sen. Manchin also played a part in earmarking $8 billion of federal funding for rural areas around the country such as West Virginia to invest in healthcare.
Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital employs 61 people and currently offers emergency and inpatient care as well as diagnostic services including labs, testing, and imaging. The hospital has also announced it is now offering outpatient radiology services, including CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
“We’re pleased to announce that we now offer outpatient radiology to expand clinical services and bring care closer to home. Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital is the first of its kind in West Virginia, and it’s an exciting time to be a part of it,” said
Dr. Chris Edwards, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital.
Mon Health System also operates many outpatient clinic locations in greater Marion County, including Primary Care, Heart & Vascular, Orthopedics, Pulmonary, OBGYN, and 3D Mammography.
“Since opening our doors last year, the community has welcomed us with open arms, and we cannot express strongly enough how thankful we are for the support,” said Ron Stovash, Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital Board Chair and Vandalia Health Board of Directors Vice Chair. “We look forward to continue providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare for years to come.”
