Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital Registered Nurse Receives DAISY Award
Posted Date: 2/12/2024
Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital is proud to honor Patty Reese, RN, as The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient.
The DAISY Award is awarded to nurses biannually at the hospital and is a part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize and thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide. Nominations are sent in by patients, families, and coworkers and compiled to award selected recipients.
“This award means so much knowing that it came from a patient that took their time to nominate me, saying that I made a difference in their experience,” said Reese.
Reese is a Registered Nurse and has worked for Mon Health System for 33 years. She joined the Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital team since opening in December 2021 and currently works in the Emergency Department. Because of Reese’s acts of selflessness and commitment to go above and beyond for her patients, she was nominated and selected as a recipient for this award.
“It is always an honor to present our extraordinary nurses with a DAISY Award, and Patty is a much-deserving recipient,” Dr. Chrstopher Edwards, Chief Administrative Officer for Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital and Mon Health System Emergency Services Director. “Patty is an excellent example of the selfless care given by our nurses on a daily basis.”
Nurses can be nominated by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experienced or observed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse.
