Mon Health Medical Center Receives Redesignation as HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence
Posted Date: 2/7/2024
Mon Health Medical Center has received redesignation as HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for its demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality culture and cardiovascular care. Mon Health Medical Center was the first accredited hospital in West Virginia and 24th in the country to receive this prestigious designation.
Hospitals and health systems that have earned an ACC HeartCARE Center designation have met a set of criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs. Mon Health Medical Center was recently awarded Electrophysiology Accreditation, the first in the state, for treating patients with heart rhythm issues and expanded its 12-year Chest Pain Center Accreditation to Chest Pain Center Accredited with Primary PCI by the ACC.
“This redesignation is one of many that we proudly hold, testifying to the high-quality, patient-focused care that we offer at the Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center,” said Dr. Bradford Warden, Executive Director and Chief of Cardiology at Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center. “We continue to set the gold standard in heart care at a national level, increasing access to advanced care and producing better outcomes for our patients.”
In addition to its ACC accreditations and designations, Mon Health Medical Center is the first hospital in the region to offer WATCHMAN FLX™ for atrial fibrillation (AFib), is Echocardiography-accredited, is a HeartFlow CT Quality Award recipient for advancements in cardiac imaging, and has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a 2023-2024 Best Hospital, High Performing in Heart Failure.
