Mon Health Medical Center Registered Nurse Receives DAISY Award

Posted Date: 11/8/2023
Mon Health Medical Center is proud to honor Amanda Savage, RN, as The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient.

The DAISY Award is awarded to nurses biannually at the hospital and is a part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize and thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide. Nominations are sent in by patients, families, and coworkers and compiled to award selected recipients.

“Receiving this award is truly humbling,” said Amanda. “I just come to work every day and do what I love. I am motivated by the people that surround me each day, from housekeeping to my fellow nurses, to the patients and their families. I am proud to be a part of a team that makes a difference in people’s lives.”

Amanda is a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg Unit at Mon Health Medical Center. Amanda has been a nurse for over twelve years and has worked for Mon Health for a year and a half. Because of Amanda’s acts of selflessness and commitment to go above and beyond for her patients, she was nominated and selected as a recipient for this award.

“It is always an honor to present our extraordinary nurses with a DAISY Award,” said Dr. Krystal Atkinson, Chief Administrative Officer for Mon Health Medical Center and Chief Nursing Executive of Mon Health System. “Amanda is an excellent example of the selfless care given by our nurses on a daily basis.”

Nurses can be nominated by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experienced or observed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse. Say thank you to a nurse and nominate them for the DAISY Award by visiting MonHealth.com/DAISY. To learn more about the DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses, visit DAISYFoundation.org.
