Mon Health Pharmacy Celebrates First Anniversary

A year ago this month, Mon Health launched hospital-based pharmacy services to improve ease of access to prescription medicines for its patients and its staff.

“This is an innovation that makes a real difference in the lives of our patients and our dedicated teams of employees,” said Mark Gilliam, Chief Administrative Officer at Mon Health Medical Center. “As a community hospital, our goal is to continually improve access to care and our pharmacy is another example of advancing that goal.”

The pharmacy, which is also open to the public, offers curbside delivery services and Meds-to-Beds program, which streamlines delivery of pharmacy prescriptions to patients before they are discharged from the hospital.

“Meds-to-Beds reduces stress for the patient by eliminating the need to stop and get prescriptions filled after leaving the hospital,” continued Gilliam.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pharmacy created contact-less curbside pickup for staff and customers.  A staff member will bring the prescription to the employee or patient outside.

“We are proud to serve our staff, patients and community,” explained Steve Monti, Pharmacist at Mon Health Pharmacy. “We also offer a range of over-the-counter products and medications from Tylenol to band aids and thermometers available for purchase to support our patients on their path to wellness.”

The direct Pharmacy phone number is 304-285-2285. To better serve its customers, the expanded Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  It is located in the Mon Health Medical Center Gift Shop.
