Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital Hosts Annual Newburg Health Fair

Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital held its annual health fair in Newburg, West Virginia, offering free and low-cost health screenings and health education to the community.
Since 2003, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital has held the Newburg Health Fair annually as part of its community outreach programs, co-hosted by the Newburg Rotary Club. A portion of the proceeds of the health fair support the Newburg Rotary Club and the projects they carry execute throughout the year.
Staff from Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Trauma, and Primary Care – Fellowsville, were joined by the Newburg Rotary Club, Newburg Senior Center, and ten other healthcare and community agencies to put on the health fair.
Low-cost blood screenings, free vision screenings, and free blood pressure screenings were offered to participants along with educational resources about a range of topics. Health topics covered included organ donation, stroke and heart attack symptoms, substance use prevention, respiratory care, and more.
“We host health fairs like these to further our mission of enhancing the health of the communities we serve,” said Melissa Lockwood, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. “We are proud to partner with local organizations to educate and expand access to healthcare in our rural area.”
