Mon Health Recognizes National Suicide Prevention Month

Posted Date: 9/5/2024
September is National Suicide Prevention Month and Mon Health is taking the time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and raise awareness about local resources available to those in need of help.

Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition.

“Suicidal thoughts are not a weakness. They are the worst and most devasting symptoms of depression. Depression, the mental health condition, creates a darkness that robs the mind of hope. If you experience these thoughts, you are not alone. Share them with a trusted person.  They can be your bearer of light while you seek urgent treatment,” said Dr. Melissa Albert, Psychiatrist at Mon Health. “At Mon Health, we're committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to those facing mental health challenges. With the right support, treatment, and resources, we can save lives and offer hope to those who are struggling. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help or schedule an appointment today.”

Mon Health offers behavioral and mental healthcare services to patents across the region through a comprehensive team of providers. Mon Health’s psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists are here for those seeking answers and treatment for their mental health.

Mon Health’s behavioral health providers treat a range of patients and disorders including those with anxiety disorders, ADHD, behavioral problems, depression and mood disorders, trauma-related anxiety, and more.
