Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital recently held its annual luncheon honoring members of the Theresa Snaith Hospital Auxiliary.
Members of the Auxiliary met at Weston’s Thyme Bistro restaurant for the annual luncheon where they were honored for their years of service to Mon Health Stonewall Jackon Memorial Hospital.
The auxiliary president, Julia Spelsberg, announced that 12,218 hours were donated by Auxiliary members during 2023. Auxiliary members Vickie Allen and Geneva Lamb were awarded 3000-hour pins, and Karen Ralston received a pin for her cumulative work of 2556 hours. The Auxiliary’s treasurer, Mary Wagoner, received a 2500-hour pin, Connie Sherrell received a pin for her 1745 hours of volunteerism, Allison St. Clair received a 500-hour pin, and Carolyn Marsh received a 300-hour pin.
“Though we are a small group of volunteers, we have been able to make a lasting impact on the hospital and staff which we serve,” said Spelsberg. “I could not ask for a more dedicated group of volunteers like we have at our hospital.”
In 2023-2024, the group sponsored several uniform sales for employees and several bag sale fundraisers to benefit Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary was also responsible for the purchase and implementation of vending machines for the hospital.
Since the Auxiliary’s foundation over 60 years ago, the group has given more than $400,000 to the hospital to provide support for patients and employees.
