Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial’s Heart Month Community Outreach
Posted Date: 2/28/2024
Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital spent February’s Heart Month being active in the community, spreading awareness of heart health and providing many free activities for community members of all ages.
As a part of its community outreach, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital had a presence at the Lewis County High School boys and girls basketball games encouraging heart-healthy activity and providing free health screenings. Throughout the month, the hospital provided many more free and low-cost blood pressure and pulse oximetry screenings to community members at Citizens Bank in Weston, City of Weston offices, and the local senior center.
Additionally, the hospital held many information sessions and demonstrations to educate the community on heart health and safety measures. These educational sessions included two-handed CPR training at several local organizations. Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial staff also set up displays with information on heart healthy foods, activities, and advice at the hospital and at Citizens Bank in Weston.
“We are extremely proud of the initiatives we’ve taken on during Heart Month in educating the community and providing greater access to necessary health screenings locally,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “We strive to keep the health of our communities as a top priority, so we are glad to see the success of our outreach programs and look forward to providing more education and activities throughout the year.”
