Mon Health System Donates Isolation Gowns to Organizations and Schools in Need

Posted Date: 8/15/2024
Together as Vandalia Health, Mon Health System, CAMC Health System, and Davis Health System are identifying areas of process improvements and efficiencies to elevate their practices. As such, Mon Health System recently adopted Vandalia Health’s in-house linen services allowing for the use of reusable gowns system wide.

This forward-thinking move not only promotes environmental responsibility but also enables the utilization of reusable isolation gowns. Dedicated to supporting the local community, Mon Health reached out to organizations and learning institutions across the state who could use its unused disposable gowns.

Isolation gowns are used as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and can provide a barrier between healthcare providers and patients with contagious illnesses. Organizations that were interested in receiving the gowns received up to 4,000 isolation gowns to be used as PPE or for training purposes.

Salem University, West Virginia Junior College, and West Virginia Wesleyan College, each partners with Mon Health System for scholarships and employment guarantees, were donated disposable isolation gowns for educational purposes.

“We are always looking for ways to make the most of the resources we have, so we are glad to donate these gowns where they will be put to good use,” said Senior Director of Supply Chain Management, PJ Henry, Regional Director for Logistics and Distribution - Vandalia Health North. “We are also proud to have donated these gowns to some of our partner schools where we offer scholarships to students, further driving our commitment to investing in the education of healthcare professionals around the state.”

Vandalia Health is poised to continue driving innovation and excellence in healthcare, building on the strengths of its teams to provide top-notch medical care while actively contributing to the well-being of the community.
