Mon Health System Employees Named Top 50 Women Leaders of West Virginia 2024

Mon Health System is pleased to announce that Jennifer Nestor and Whitney Patterson have been named in Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women Leaders of West Virginia 2024.
The Women We Admire Top 50 Women Leaders of West Virginia 2024 recognizes the outstanding women leading in a variety of fields that from agriculture to healthcare.
Jennifer Nestor is the Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Nestor has held a variety of clinical roles, including volunteer EMT, clinical nurse, and nurse director before starting her role at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in 2009. In addition, she spends time as a diabetic educator, hosting a community diabetic education and support group in collaboration with the Preston County Health Department. She is also the president-elect for the West Virginia Organization of Nurse Leaders.
Nestor graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Charleston with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing before completing her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. Recently, she achieved becoming a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
“It is such an honor to be recognized among these amazing leaders and women in West Virginia,” said Nestor. “It is fantastic to be empowered by my organization to achieve great things in our communities, supported by a strong, hardworking, and dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Our patients are the real winners here. I feel very fortunate to have a career where I feel I can make a difference in the lives of individuals every day.”
Whitney Patterson is the Chief Financial Officer of Highland-Clarksburg Hospital (HCHI). Patterson joined the HCHI team as a controller in August 2017. Before coming to HCHI, Patterson was the Chief Financial Officer at Fairmont Regional Medical Center, where she guided the hospital through their 2013 bankruptcy filing and subsequent sale to Alecto Healthcare Services.
Patterson graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a graduate certificate in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation. She holds both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional designation. Patterson is actively involved in numerous professional and charitable organizations, such as the WV Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Roosevelt-Wilson, Washington Irving, Kelly Miller, and Robert C. Byrd Alumni Foundation.
