Mon Health to Host its Second Annual ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk
Posted Date: 8/23/2023
The Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary is proud to host its second ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk to support prostate cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families. On Saturday, August 26 at 8AM, Morgantown and surrounding area community members will come together to fight against a disease that takes the life of an American man every 15 minutes.
“We are thrilled to be hosting our second ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk,” said Chris Battin, Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary Board President. “This event is so important not just because of the funds that we raise, but also because of the community we build in support of those fighting against prostate cancer.”
Part of a national event series, the race shows community support through raising funds and awareness for those active in the fight against prostate cancer. This year, the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary is partnering the West Virginia University chapter of Phi Kappa Psi to broaden the impact made in the fight against prostate cancer.
“It will be greatly rewarding for the brotherhood to know we can make a difference in the community,” said Garrett King, Philanthropy Chairman at Phi Kappa Psi. “Being a cancer survivor myself and seeing firsthand how a community can rally behind someone in a time of need is extremely humbling and inspiring. I’m excited to be a small part in providing that feeling for others.”
The race will be held at the Mylan Park Track Complex at 1847 Fitness Way in Morgantown and will include a 5K run/walk on a mixed surface terrain, a 1 mile walk on the Mylan Park Track, and a kid’s dash.
