Vandalia Health Hospitals and Marion County Rescue Squad Donate Flood Relief Supplies to Asheville 9-1-1 Center

Posted Date: 10/7/2024
Mon Health Medical Center and Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital have partnered with the Marion County Rescue Squad to provide critical relief to Asheville, North Carolina, as the city prepares to manage the aftermath of severe flooding during the hurricane season. Both hospitals, alongside Marion County Rescue Squad, rallied to collect and donate essential items to the Asheville 9-1-1 center to aid in flood relief efforts.

Mon Health teams collaborated to gather much-needed supplies in just a few short days as soon as Marion County Rescue Squad raised the offering. Donations included items that are vital for flood recovery efforts, such as cleaning supplies, bleach, diapers, toilet paper, and much more.

On October 3, the Marion County Rescue Squad delivered the collected supplies to Asheville. Their timely response ensured that the people of Asheville received the support they needed as they began recovery efforts.

“Our hearts go out to the people of Asheville as they navigate these challenging times,” said Donna Wade, Assistant Chief, Marion County Rescue Squad. “We understand the impact that natural disasters have on communities, and we’re honored to partner with Mon Health to make a difference.”

“At Vandalia Health, we believe in stepping up when communities are in need, whether they are local or beyond our borders,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Davis Health System - Vandalia Health North, and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health. “This collaboration with the Marion County Rescue Squad to support Asheville during their time of crisis reflects our commitment to compassion, resilience, and the power of partnership in making a tangible difference.”
