On October 9, 2024, Vandalia Health hospitals, including Mon Health and Davis Health, hosted a successful Healthcare Career Showcase aimed at introducing middle & high school students to the dynamic world of healthcare.
Hosted at the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, WV, nearly 400 students from schools across West Virginia attended the event.
The event featured departments from across Mon Health and Davis Health, including Marketing, Food & Nutrition Services, Legal, Human Resources, Heart & Vascular, and many more. Each department set up a booth where students could visit and learn about the different areas of healthcare and participate in fun and educational activities designed to ignite their interest in the field.
“It’s important to start teaching students about healthcare early, to open their eyes to the many different career paths available,” said Katie Davison, Chief Human Resources Officer, at Mon Health. “Events like this showcase the vast opportunities within the field, and it's inspiring to see such a great turnout. We are excited to be part of sparking these students’ interest in healthcare."
The event was a success, leaving students inspired and informed about the various career possibilities in healthcare. Mon Health and Davis Health are proud to continue their efforts in fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
