Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center Nurse Receives DAISY Award

Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center is proud to recognize Kyle Dean, RN, as a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient.

The DAISY Award is awarded to nurses quarterly at the hospital and is a part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize and thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide. Nominations are sent in by patients, families and coworkers and compiled to award selected recipients.

“I’m overwhelmed and thankful to be receiving a DAISY Award,” Dean said. “I love being a nurse--getting to take care of people and helping others.”

A Registered Nurse at Mon Medical Center for the past two years, Dean was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient’s family member.

“Throughout my grandfather’s various ailments, Kyle Dean was there to listen, answer and resolve,” wrote the patient’s family member in a nomination form. “My Grandpa truly felt safe with him and could talk to him like a friend. Aside from the close bond created with my loved one, I noticed that he was constantly assisting and relieving others without skipping a beat. Kyle Dean has the compassion, work ethic and strong moral compass that I wish everyone had.”
