Elizabeth Frum (patient) with her Heart and Vascular Team
After realizing she was having a heart attack, Elizabeth Frum told EMS to take her directly to the Mon Health Medical Center Emergency Department.
She went directly into surgery, with a team led by cardiologist
Dr. Michael Englund and received two stents to relieve a blockage in an artery known as the widow-maker.
Through her rehabilitation and recovery, her care team provided close medical monitoring, follow-up treatment, personal coaching, and lifestyle counseling to get her safely back on her feet for her family and her passion for animal rescue.
Elizabeth was born and raised in North Central West Virginia and has been a volunteer for Animal Friends for the last 12 years. She enjoys painting and spending time with her family, including her husband of 39 years, Randy, their three daughters, and their dog.
"Everyone at Mon Health went out of their way for me," Elizabeth said. "You feel the difference when you're there. It's a really caring place."
